Who owns Knack?
Knack was founded by 2 local creative women who wanted to see a creative reuse center come to the Pioneer Valley – read more about Amber Ladley & Macey Faiella » Knack is now owned by Marjory Zaik, who continues Knack’s mission and follows in the footsteps of her friends and colleagues Amber and Macey. Marjory is an Easthampton native who left the area after college to pursue careers in the private sector (in the management of a large law firm), in the running of a small, academic non-profit organization and in the public sector (as a high school teacher in New York City’s Department of Education). Marjory returned to Easthampton in the winter of 2013 to live with and care for her father, Chester Zaik, a lifelong Easthampton resident (b. 1921 – d. 2014) who inspired and encouraged her to pursue her goals and passions. She began volunteering with Knack in early 2014 and assumed ownership of the business in April 2015.
How long has Knack been around?
Knack was started in July, 2012 (online, events, pop-up shop), and officially opened our doors at Eastworks on July 1, 2013.
